On 26th May WNL and the WVN (Welsh
Video Network) organised a briefing day covering the networking
issues regarding the delivery of IP based video-conferencing.
The event was very well attended with over 65 delegates from the
Unitary Authorities, Local Education Authorities and the Broadband
Wales Unit. The PowerPoint presentations given by each of the

WNL has organised two briefing events
to bring the twenty two Unitary Authorities in Wales up to date
regarding recent developments and progress on the Lifelong Learning
Network for Wales. These events will follow a similar format to the
Consultative Meetings held in May 2002, and will be held at
locations in North and South Wales. Each of the two events will
follow an identical program.
The
dates and venues of these meetings are as follows:
The intended audience for these events
are IT Managers and Senior Network Officers, and will give delegates
the opportunity to raise questions with members of the Managing
Agents (WNL and Logical), and the National Assembly's Broadband
Unit.

WNL are pleased
to announce that the final remaining authority connected to the
Lifelong Learning Network for Wales (LLNW) has received a public IP
allocation from UKERNA. All twenty two Unitary Authorities are now
able to achieve IP connectivity to the global internet via the
SuperJANET4 interconnect service.
