Organisations connected to SWMAN2
WNL provides support to its connected organisations either directly through the SWMAN Managing Agent team based at Cardiff University.

In order to ensure co-ordination of information and responses under sometimes stressful and urgent situations, all Connected Organisations are required to inform WNL of their Nominated Contact(s) who will be the only channels used to supply information during incidents. It is the responsibility of Connected Organisations to keep WNL informed of changes to their Nominated Contact(s). This can be done by emailing info@wnl.net

Organisations connected to the LLNW
WNL provides support to the 22 Unitary Authorities in Wales via the LLNW Helpdesk. The helpdesk provides technical support from Mondays to Fridays (not including public or bank holidays) during normal office hours.

In order to ensure co-ordination of information and responses under sometimes stressful and urgent situations, all Unitary Authorities are required to inform WNL of their Nominated Contact(s) who will be the only channels used to supply information during incidents. It is the responsibility of each Unitary Authority to keep the LLNW helpdesk informed of changes to their Nominated Contact(s). This may be done by emailing

  Outside of normal office hours, calls to the LLNW Helpdesk number are diverted automatically to the Logicalis 24 hour Managed Service Centre.

This facility should be used for fault reporting purposes only, and solely by each Unitary Authority's nominated technical contact(s).
 
       

 

RPAN Official Holidays
Under the RPAN Agreement with JANET(UK), a list of 6 “Public Holidays” is specified for each academic year. In addition, WNL is allowed to nominate up to 4 additional “Discretionary Holidays”.

These “Official Holidays” comprise ten days during each year when cover is provided to Higher Education Institutions and Further Education Colleges by the
JANET Service Desk (JSD) instead of the SWMAN Managing Agent team in Cardiff.

Similarly, on the dates listed below, support for the 22 Unitary Authorities in Wales will be provided by Logicalis' 24 hour Managed Service Centre, and should be used only for fault reporting purposes. Calls to the LLNW Helpdesk number will be automatically diverted to the Logical MSC.
